CO₂ Car Project

The CO₂ car project is part of the Land Transportation Unit for the Energy Transportation classes. Students design their cars using a CAD program. The design, which must meet specific criteria and specifications, is then transformed into a CO₂ car in the Production Laboratory. Before racing, the cars undergo several tests, including the wind tunnel. After racing the cars on an electronically timed track, the students using data collected during the race, determine their car's velocity, acceleration and M.P.H.
