Resources for Lake Park Students:
Calculator Database - Please register your graphing calculator here so that lost calculators can be returned to you.
Graphing Calculator Requirement - All Lake Park Students (except for Pre-Algebra students) must have a graphing calculator for personal use. The TI-84 Plus is the recommended model, but the TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-84, and the TI-Nspire (non CAS) are all acceptable models.
Don't throw out the TI Points on the Calculator Packaging!!! Please ask your students to turn in their TI Points codes from their calculator packages to their Lake Park math teacher. This is not the UPC code, but a different symbol that can be seen by clicking here. The link also describes the program in more detail. We thank you in advance for supporting Lake Park by turning in these points. With these points, we are able to earn the latest tech equipment to enhance our classroom instruction.
TI-Nspire FREE Keypad - Refer to your graphing calculator packaging for additional information on how you can mail in for a free TI-84 Keypad that can bring all of the functions of the TI-84 to your fingertips. The online Texas Instrument support also provides additional resources to those who purchase the TI-Nspire.
Graphing Calculator Rental Program - A limited number of calculators are available through Lake Park's Calculator Rental Program. Click here to download the rental agreement that must be signed by the student and a guardiana, and then returned to the main office. This agreement outlines the rental program process.

Course Descriptions & 4 Year Sequence - Review a description of each math course offered at Lake Park and the potential sequence of math courses available over a students four years of enrollement.
Summer Math Packet Requirement - A summer math packet must be completed by all students entering Pre Algebra, Algebra, Geometry or Algebra 2 at any level in an effort to establish a strong mathematical foundation upon which higher level math principles are built. These packets will be posted on the department homepage no later than May 1st each year.
Lake Park Math Team - Any student who enjoys mathematics, likes to work both by themselves and with other students, and has an interest in doing problems beyond the typical “textbook” problems is encouraged to join the math team. Tutoring is provided by Lake Park math teachers during every period at both campuses in the library unless otherwise noted. Students are encouraged to get help during their study hall, SSP, or lunch period. Below is a list of the LP math teachers that are tutoring by period.

Trinity Community Center Evening Tutoring -
Math tutoring is available at the Trinity Community Center on Tuesday and Thursday evenings:Tuesday 6:30-8:30 pm
Thursday 6:30-8:30 pmThis is by appointment only. Please email tutoring@trinityroselle.com or call 630-894-3916 or 874-891-1364 at least 24 hours in advance, if possible. If you don't make an appointment, no one will be there! A one-time $15 donation is greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of heating at the center, but otherwise, this tutoring service is FREE!

Algebra Help: Algebrahelp.com is a collection of lessons, calculators, and worksheets created to assist students and teachers of algebra.
Ask Doctor Math: Ask Dr. Math is a question and answer service for math students and their teachers. A searchable archive is available by level and topic, as well as summaries of Frequently Asked Questions.
Brightstorm Math: Brightstorm Math, which includes over 2,000 videos on every topic from Algebra through Calculus, is free. With Brightstorm Math, any registered user can watch as many math videos as many times as they like.
GeoGebra: Free mathematics software for learning and teaching. GeoGebra offers interactive graphics, algebra, and spreadsheets from elementary school to the university level.
Khan Academy: This site offers free, instructional YouTube videos on math, science, and the humanities. The math videos provide step-by-step instruction on topics from Algebra through Calculus.
Math.com: Math.com is dedicated to providing revolutionary ways for students, parents, teachers, and everyone to learn math. Combining educationally sound principles with proprietary technology, Math.com offers a unique experience that quickly guides the user to the solutions they need and the products they want. This site offers online tutorials and 24/7 live online tutoring.
Purple Math: Purplemath's algebra lessons are written with the student in mind. These lessons emphasize the practicalities rather than the technicalities, demonstrating dependable techniques, warning of likely "trick" questions, and pointing out common mistakes.
Texas Instruments: Texas Instruments online site provides information, additional resources, and downloads for the graphing calculators.
WolframAlpha: WolframAlpha is an impressive new search engine that can solve even the most complicated mathematical problems and provide the step-by-step solution. It can be used as an important educational tool for all subject areas.
