RESTRICTIVE PHYSICAL EDUCATION
GRADES 11-12
(One Semester)

COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course provides students with opportunities to experience personal fitness through assessment, individualized program design, use of leisure time, and lifetime sports skills. Emphasis is placed on improving or maintaining physical fitness and teaching self awareness. Individualized assistance is given in skill related activities and fitness programming.

 

UNITS OF INSTRUCTION:

UNIT I   -    Weight Training
UNIT II   -    Cardiovascular Fitness
UNIT III   -    Leisure Skills
UNIT IV   -    Lifetime Sports
COURSE OUTCOMES:
  1. Improve or maintain physical fitness.
  2. Acquaint students with the basic principles of exercise.
  3. Increase ones own body awareness.

 

UNIQUE/SPECIAL STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS COURSE:
  1. Participate in class activities; individually and in groups.
  2. Dress daily in required physical education uniform.
  3. Apply effort to physical fitness training and assessments.
