| COURSE
OVERVIEW:
|
| This program is designed to offer students a
three day a week individualized computer weight training program in order to
develop overall strength. The alternating days shall offer a variety of
aerobic activities. These activities include in-line skating, jogging, and
interval training. Physical fitness will be assessed and students will
participate in a cardio-vascular training program to maintain or to improve
physical fitness. |

 | Assessing personal fitness through appropriate protocol
and set target goals based on assessment. |
 | Assess strength and develop a strength-training program
based on assessments. |
 | Identify the different types of strength training
programs. Select the program that meets individual goals. |
 | Practice strength training exercises to develop
muscular strength and endurance now as well as throughout the life cycle. |
 | Identify the major muscle groups of the body and
identify those strength exercises associated with them. |
 | Employ a variety of cardio-exercises to train the heat
muscle. |
 | Identify personal habits that are detrimental to
obtaining the health related fitness standards. |
 | Develop a plan to assist in changing detrimental
personal habits that lead to disease. |
 | Dress daily in required physical education uniform. |
 | Enter personal data into personalized electronic
portfolio. |
 | Write personal fitness plan during designated semester |
