Coaches Corner
	Dan Colucci, Head Varsity Coach #33 Coach Colucci is beginning his sixteenth year coaching at Lake Park. Coach Colucci began his coaching career immediately after completing his college career at NIU in 1993. Coach Colucci graduated from Lake Park High School in 1988 and was voted captain his senior season. He went on to play collegiate baseball at nationally ranked junior college Kishwaukee, in Malta, IL. He was selected to the Arrowhead Conference All-Conference team after his sophomore year. He went on to finish his collegiate career at NIU where he started for two years and was one of the team’s captains his senior year. He began his coaching career at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL in the fall of 1993. His first high school coaching position was the next year as the freshman coach at Driscoll Catholic High School in Addison, IL. He began coaching at LP in 1996 as the sophomore head coach. In 1998 was moved to the varsity level as an assistant. In 1999 Coach Colucci began his career as a head varsity coach. He currently teaches in the Business Education Department at West Campus and teaches Accounting, Consumer Education, Marketing and Financing Your Future. 	Kevin Johnson, Asst. Varsity Coach #7 Coach Johnson is starting his fourteenth year coaching at Lake Park. KJ entered the LP program in 1998 as the head sophomore coach and is beginning his sixth year with the varsity. Johnson began his playing career at DeWitt High School in East Lansing, MI. Coach Johnson was selected to the All-State team as an outfielder after his senior year. He later went on to play baseball and football at Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, IL. He was a captain during his senior season as the Elmhurst baseball team captured the CCIW conference title. He currently teaches in the Physical Education Department at West Campus. 	David Mikes, Assistant Varsity Coach #2 Dave Mikes is a 1996 graduate of Lake Park and is in his tenth year of coaching at LP. As a player at Lake Park, Coach Mikes was selected all-conference and all-area in both his Junior and Senior years as LP’s shortstop. His playing days continued at Eastern Illinois University as a four year starter for the Panthers. During his four years at Eastern, Mikes was voted all-conference and all-regional as a junior and selected as a captain by his teammates as a senior. 	Brian Bahn, Sophomore Coach #9 This will be Coach Bahn’s eleventh year as a coach at Lake Park. Coach Bahn brings with him a lot of playing experience at the collegiate level. Coach Bahn graduated from Schaumburg High School in 1993. He was voted to the Mid-Suburban All-Conference team as a junior and senior as well as being named to the All-Chicago land Senior team. He continued playing baseball at Harper College in Palatine, IL. He was voted to the All-Conference team as a catcher both years. He then went on to play at the nationally ranked program at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis. During his two years at Carthage he was an all-conference CCIW catcher. During his senior year the squad went to the Div. III world series in Salem, VA and took fourth in the nation. Coach Bahn began his coaching career at Carthage immediately following the end of his playing career. He worked with the pitchers and catchers. Coach Bahn teaches at east campus in the science department where he teaches College-Prep Bio and General Bio. He and his wife Mary and sons Jack and Luke reside in Schaumburg. Coach Bahn can be contacted at bbahn@lphs.org Jordan Tokarz, Sophomore Assistant This will be Coach Tokarz's first year coaching at Lake Park. He graduated from Neuqua Valley in Naperville, where he was selected as an all-state 2nd basemen his senior year. He went on to play two years at Elgin Community College, where he helped lead his team to two NJCAA World Series appearances and was a two-time All-American player. He went on to Eastern Illinois University and was the starting 2nd basemen on two conference championship teams. He was selected as an all-conference and all-regional player his senior year. 	Bob Fogarty, Freshman “A” Coach Coach Fogarty begins his sixth year coaching baseball at Lake Park. He has coached at the high school level for the past three years. He has been the head sophomore coach at Fenton HS in 2004 and 2005 and the head freshman coach at York HS for the 2003 season. Bob has been a certified Doyle baseball instructor since 1999 and has been active running camps for the Doyle Baseball School. Bob played baseball for Fenton HS and was the team MVP and All Conference selection in 1973. He played college baseball at College of DuPage before a knee injury cut short his baseball career. Bob lives in Medinah with his wife Barbara and three sons, Pat, Keith, and Adam. Jerry Coppola, Freshman “B” Coach Jerry Coppola is a 1998 Lake Park graduate who will be coaching his 3^rd year of high school baseball and 1^st here at Lake Park.  Coach Coppola returned to Lake Park to work in the special education department last year.  He spent the previous 2 years as the assistant sophomore coach at Larkin High School as well as the previous 6 years managing/playing in Midwest Suburban League.  Coach Coppola looks forward to returning to Lake Park and being a part of the baseball program.
